Very balanced and appropriate for belly danceJan 15, 2009
By WikkeWicce88 I've been belly dancing for 4 years now, and I've been looking for the perfect sword. I was skeptical to buy it online, but getting a sword from Knights Edge turned to be reliable.
I bought it from Amazon rather than Knights Edge's official website because you'd have to set an account. You can't buy it there as a guest. It was just easier to get it from here. The price was the same. And mind you, getting this sword anywhere else would be ridiculous. $88 is cheap compared to what I've seen. Usually a Dragon Scimitar sword is $208 or a little less. For a silver handle, it would be more. $88 is practically a steal. And the service was great (as usual); the sword arrived right on time.
My only problem is the handle. It's beautifully crafted but I was really hoping it would be silver rather than brass. In my opinion, the pic was misleading. Looks silver-ish to me. I favor silver over bronze... and I don't think there is a way to specify in the order whether or not you want silver over brass. The blade is completely blunt. There is not one sharp edge anywhere. And it's pretty heavy. I don't recommend this sword for beginners, because... despite the fact that this is blunt, if you where to accidently drop it, it'll impale your foot so deep just because it's THAT heavy. I've delt with 2lbs swords... I would say this feels about 3-4lbs. The engravings are clear and gives this manly device a feminine touch.
I've started dancing with it, and it took a short while for me to get used to the feedback of the sword... Like, if I were to turn in place I'd have to feel how slow or how fast the sword on my head will follow. It's actually better than the 2lb sword because this one doesn't teeter as much. Overal, this is a well balanced sword.
Not only did I get the sword, but Knight Edge gives you a complimentary booklet of other things they sell... I like medival stlye stuff, so I just might order again. And if there were to announce that they have the same sword with a silver handle, I'd be the first to buy ;)
Is a great sworedFeb 29, 2012
By V. Del Rosario I don't care what anyone on here might say... but this swords is not bad at all. Is strong, is not cheap what so ever. It balances ok, a lil funny because the handle is a bit heavy (not too much)... overall. I think is a great product. A bit expensive, but the material is great. Therefor I'm not complaining.

Not nearly worth $0Dec 16, 2008
By Nathaniel Grauwelman I didn't buy the sword off here, I purchased it from an auction site, used under the heading that it was a wall hanging sword. I purchased mine for $10 and though it has some wear, I can tell you honestly that it isn't worth the price it's listed here. I just saw that it had 4 stars and with the price, I didn't want anyone to get suckered into buying it. Look around and you'll be able to find it for a lot cheaper.
Now for the sword itself. Because my sword is older, I have an idea of how it reacts to being used. The metal isn't the best, and the dragon's head actually screws off. The grip is kind of like a spring and that can get loose and cause the sword to spin when you hold it. I don't claim to know anything about belly dancing but the blade of the sword isn't all that thick, but that may just be part of it. Anyway, I hope this helped.
